CICG president meets Chinese ambassador to Spain

Du Zhanyuan, president of China International Communications Group (CICG), met with Yao Jing, Chinese ambassador to Spain, in Madrid, Spain, on Nov. 8. They exchanged views on promoting people-to-people exchange and international communication between China and Spain.

Du congratulated Yao on his recent appointment as the Chinese ambassador to Spain, and thanked the support of the Chinese Embassy in Spain for CICG's work in publishing Spanish language books and promoting the Orchid Awards. Du introduced CICG's international communication efforts and its organizations, and received advice from the embassy about international communication in European countries such as Spain. 

Du said that CICG is ready to enhance communication and cooperation with the Chinese Embassy in Spain. Leveraging on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Spain, CICG will introduce an array of projects on publication cooperation, think tank research, and cultural exchange to enhance mutual understanding between people of the two countries, he said.

Yao introduced the development of China-Spain relationships and spoke highly of CICG's efforts and achievements in promoting Chinese culture and people-to-people exchange. Yao said he expects further cooperation with CICG in publication and holding forums and activities that contribute more to strengthening China-Spain relations.
