CICG holds ceremony for Nantong city biography

"Nantong: The Biography" was launched in eastern China's Nantong city on Oct. 27. The book is part of the "Biographies of Silk Road Cities" series published by China International Communications Group (CICG) to introduce cities on the Belt and Road route.

Lu Cairong, vice president of CICG, said at the launch ceremony that Nantong is a renowned historical and cultural city as well as an important junction on the Belt and Road route. As the first book that vividly depicts Nantong through pictures and words, the city biography exquisitely presents the inclusiveness of Nantong and shows its charm to the entire world, he said.

Guo Yihao, deputy secretary-general of the Communist Party of China Nantong Municipal Committee, said the city biography series is an important cultural project of implementing the Belt and Road Initiative. He said the city biography of Nantong fills the void of publications on the city's history and culture and contributes to the cultural development of the city.

The "Biographies of Silk Road Cities" series is the first and only comprehensive collection of city biographies in the international publishing industry. To date, the series has included more than 60 city biographies in multiple languages.
