'The Space-Time Painter' wins Best Novelette Hugo Award

The 2023 Hugo Awards were announced on Oct. 21 in Chengdu, southwestern China's Sichuan province. The Best Novelette Award went to "The Space-Time Painter" by Chinese writer Hai Ya. The novelette was first included in the anthology of science fiction — "Galaxy's Edge 009" — published in April 2022 by New Star Press under China International Communications Group. 

The Hugo Awards, first presented in 1953, are science fiction's most prestigious award. This year, more than 25,000 works were submitted in 19 categories including Best Novel, Best Novella, Best Novelette, and Best Dramatic Presentation.
