Think tank forum pools wisdom for global challenges

The 8th China Global Think Tank Innovation Forum kicked off Monday in Beijing, bringing together leading think tank experts to discuss solutions for addressing common global challenges.

With support from the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies under China International Communications Group (CICG), the event was jointly organized by the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. Gao Anming, vice president of CICG, delivered a speech at the forum.

Gao said that, as the world faces severe and complex challenges, think tanks should shoulder the responsibilities of promoting mutual learning among civilizations and resolving cultural conflicts, and work toward building a community with a shared future for mankind. He called for efforts to conduct multicultural research, promote knowledge sharing, and deepen people-to-people exchange.

Wang Huiyao, president of the CCG, said that bilateral and trilateral relationships among China, the U.S., and the EU have a profound impact on the global political and economic development. He said it is important for think tanks to contribute their solutions for building a better world.

The forum featured an opening ceremony, a report release, and a China-Europe think tank exchange event. More than 100 think tank experts and scholars from China, the U.S., Europe, and other countries and regions attended the forum.
