China, Türkiye hold forum to boost cultural exchange

The 4th China-Türkiye Communication Forum was held in Istanbul, the capital city of Türkiye, on Wednesday. 

Themed on "The 10th Year of the Belt and Road Initiative," the event brought together around 100 representatives from government agencies, think tanks, media outlets, and business communities of both China and Türkiye.

Gao Anming, vice president of China International Communications Group (CICG), attended the event and delivered a speech. Gao said that China and Türkiye have enjoyed a long history of mutual learning. Over the last decade, the two countries' strategic cooperative relationship has been promoted in an all-around manner under the care and guidance of the two heads of state, Gao added.

To further enhance relations between China and Türkiye, Gao proposed to deepen people-to-people exchange among the two countries, build more dialogue platforms, and jointly practice multilateralism.

Serdar Cam, deputy minister of culture and tourism of Türkiye, said the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has withstood the challenges brought by the complicated and changing international situation and demonstrated its great significance to the world. Cam called for more concrete efforts from both countries to deepen cooperation in the fields of culture and international communications. 

Attending representatives reached the consensus that the BRI has yielded fruitful results over the last decade and injected new impetus into global economic growth. They agreed that China and Türkiye should enhance mutual support and mutual learning to achieve greater development. 

The forum was co-hosted by CICG, the Chinese embassy in Türkiye, and Turkuvaz Media Group.
