Chongqing, the international exchange center in western and central China, has built its own communication brand with distinctive local features and improved the international communication abilities of China's western regions, said Lu Cairong, vice president of China International Communications Group (CICG), in his speech at the event.

Through close cooperation, CICG and Chongqing have jointly built communication channels and shared resources to tell stories of Chongqing and the rest of China, yielding fruitful results and maintaining a close friendship, Lu said.

By introducing diverse and targeted projects, CICG aims to deepen cooperation with China's western region and meet their specific communication needs, so as to present a true, multi-dimensional, and panoramic view of China, Lu added.

At the ceremony, Yu Yunquan, head of the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies under CICG, was announced as one of the members of the Chongqing international communication expert committee.

The CICG delegation visited Chongqing Publishing Group and other cultural exchange organizations to discuss publications and international communication efforts regarding the Belt and Road Initiative.
