CICG to attend 19th Shanghai Book Fair

China International Communications Group (CICG) will attend the 19th Shanghai Book Fair to be held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center on Aug. 16-22.

Seven publishing houses under CICG will bring to the event over 40,000 books in more than 30 languages.

The books cover a wide array of fields such as traditional Chinese culture, literary works, children's picture books, historical picture books, books for teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and imported books.

During the book fair, a lineup of promotion and exchange activities will take place, including a special event for the "Collections of Classic Translations" book series published by Foreign Languages Press, which will be held on the morning of Aug. 17.

At the activity, the translator of the five poetry-focused books Zhao Yanchun will share his views on the art and craft of poetic translation, and international students of Shanghai University will recite poems in Chinese and English.

In addition, CICG's Dolphin Books will hold a promotional event with a book signing session for its English picture book "My Shanghai" on the morning of Aug. 19.

The book tailored for children under 6 is authored by two writers of Chinese descent Angela M. Lim and Zhen-Lei Chang.
