CICG awards winners of international Chinese calligraphy competition
The awards ceremony and exhibition of outstanding works of the 6th Chinese Calligraphy Competition for Participants from SCO Countries were held in Qingdao, Shandong province, on Friday.
Gao Anming, vice president of China International Communications Group (CICG), Grigory Logvinov, deputy secretary-general of the SCO, or the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, as well as diplomats from the embassies of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan attended the event.

The calligraphy competition aims to encourage people from SCO countries, especially young people, to explore Chinese culture through calligraphy, and build a bridge of friendship for mutual learning and understanding, according to the Center for Europe and Asia under CICG, a co-host of the event.
More than 30,000 calligraphy lovers have participated in the competition over the six sessions. This session received over 3,000 works from participants from India, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, and other SCO countries. Eighteen contestants emerged as winners, including four first prizes, six second prizes, and eight third prizes. Two awards were presented to organizations participating in the event.

Under the guidance of CICG and the secretariat of the SCO, the event was jointly held by CICG's Center for Europe and Asia and the administrative committee of the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area.
