Seminar on Chinese path to modernization held in Beijing

A seminar focusing on the Chinese path to modernization and its global significance was held in Beijing on Monday.

This event was co-hosted by the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies under China International Communications Group (CICG) and Tsinghua University Institute for Governance Studies. It assembled nearly 30 representatives from various universities, think tanks, and media outlets. The group convened to explore the significance of China's modernization path in promoting development, global governance, and security in the new era.

In his opening remarks, Yu Tao, vice president of CICG, emphasized the seminar's significant role in enhancing research on the Chinese path to modernization, as well as fostering a deeper understanding of effective methods for sharing China's stories and its modernization trajectory in the new era.

He emphasized the importance of employing case studies and inclusive narratives to present China's modernization to a global audience. He also encouraged enhanced collaboration to maximize the outcomes of the seminar through various formats and channels, thereby stimulating continuous discussions on related topics.

Jiang Shengyao, head of Tsinghua University Institute for Governance Studies, underscored the necessity of thorough research into the theory behind China's modernization. He conveyed his hopes that the seminar would yield valuable insights and foster intellectual growth through extensive academic exchanges, thus promoting further research into the Chinese path to modernization.
