Strategic Communication Forum held in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi

The 2023 Strategic Communication Forum opened Sunday in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province, known as China's porcelain capital.

Co-hosted by China International Communications Group (CICG) and the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Jiangxi Provincial Committee, the forum brought together government officials, influential figures from the cultural sphere, and foreign diplomats in China to discuss ways of deepening exchange and mutual learning among civilizations and presenting Chinese culture to the world.

In his address to the opening ceremony, CICG President Du Zhanyuan noted the importance of exchange and mutual learning in advancing the progress of civilizations. He called for all-round efforts to construct a strategic communication system so as to promote cultural advancement in China and enhance mutual learning between China and the rest of the world.

Zhuang Zhaolin, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee, said civilizations are enriched by exchange and mutual learning. He called for building up cultural confidence and exploring the treasures of traditional culture. Jiangxi province, with a rich cultural heritage, needs to fully embrace its mission in the new era and contribute to extending the reach and appeal of Chinese culture, he said.

The opening event witnessed the launch of the Jingdezhen Ceramic Culture International Communication Cooperation Plan, aimed at better promoting Chinese culture and the ceramic culture of Jingdezhen worldwide.

The forum also featured discussions on various topics including the high-quality development of international communication, ways to deepen cultural exchange and mutual learning, the international communication of digital arts, exchanges among youths of different countries, and how to introduce Jingdezhen's ceramic culture to the world. Over 200 people participated in the discussions.
