Du said that the forum has become an influential platform for communication between Chinese and ASEAN media since its inception in 2018. As China's largest comprehensive organization for international communication, CICG has engaged in extensive cooperation with ASEAN countries in fields of media, people-to-people exchange, youth communication, and joint publication. Du said he hopes that, through this forum, CICG would promote interconnectivity with ASEAN media and make more contributions to building a China-ASEAN community with a shared future.

Shi Zhongjun, secretary-general of the ASEAN-China Centre, said the center will advance media cooperation between China and ASEAN countries and contribute to China-ASEAN comprehensive strategic partnership.

Diplomats from ASEAN countries including Myanmar Ambassador to China Tin Maung Swe, media professionals, as well as government officials attended the event.

The 2023 ASEAN-China Media Cooperation Forum was guided by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and co-hosted by CICG, the ASEAN-China Centre, and the information office and foreign affairs office of Zhejiang provincial government.
