Annual conference on post-graduate education in translation held in Changsha
The 2023 Annual Conference for Post-graduate Education in Translation and Interpreting was held in Changsha, Hunan province, on Saturday.
The conference was centered on serving national strategies and strategic communication in post-graduate education. It brought together heavyweights from the translation field, as well as representatives from government, businesses, and universities, to discuss the future development of post-graduate education in translation and interpreting.

Yu Tao, vice president of China International Communications Group (CICG) and chairman of the China National Committee for Graduate Education of Translation and Interpreting, emphasized the committee's significant role in nurturing high-caliber translation professionals who can meet market demand.
Yu called on translation education in colleges and universities to align with national strategies, promote collaboration, explore innovative approaches across multiple disciplines, and strive for high-quality development in post-graduate translation education. This, he said, would contribute to enhancing the nation's capabilities in translation and international communication.

Participants in the conference also held discussions on cultivation and evaluation systems of doctoral education in translation, curriculum development in post-graduate education in translation, and translation and international communication in the era of artificial intelligence.
The event was co-hosted by the China National Committee for Graduate Education of Translation and Interpreting and the working committee of translation degree at the Association of Chinese Graduate Education, and was organized by Hunan Normal University.
