CICG holds cultural event to boost exchanges between China, Russia

China International Communications Group (CICG) on Wednesday held a cultural event online, aiming to deepen cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and Russia.

The event, called "I read China," was attended by over 130 participants, including Vice President of CICG Lu Cairong, Chinese diplomats, representatives from Far Eastern Federal University, as well as students in Russia.

In his speech, Lu said that China-Russia friendship enjoys solid public support. He expressed his hope that young people from both countries would take on the responsibility of cultural exchange and mutual learning. He encouraged them to make friends through books and learning from each other, and said that CICG is willing to work with all sectors to enhance exchanges between Chinese and Russian youths and improve the friendship between the two peoples.

During the event, Associate Professor Li Yonggang from the Academy of Chinese Culture gave a lecture on traditional Chinese culture such as the Chinese zodiac. Students in several Russian schools also shared their book reading experiences at the event.

Additionally, Chinese attendees at the event presented books in multiple languages to the library of Far Eastern Federal University and other schools in Russia.
