China-Kazakhstan media, think tank dialogue held to boost exchange under BRI
A dialogue on boosting exchange and cooperation between media organizations and think tanks of China and Kazakhstan was held Sunday in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
The event brought together experts and scholars from the two countries to hold in-depth discussions about Chinese modernization, the building of a community with shared future for humanity, and the China-Kazakhstan permanent comprehensive strategic partnership.

Zhang Xiao, Chinese ambassador to Kazakhstan, highlighted in his speech that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which has become the world's most extensive platform for international cooperation. He said that Kazakhstan has made remarkable achievements as a crucial partner of China under the BRI framework in the past decade.

Lu Cairong, vice president of China International Communications Group (CICG), pointed out that since establishing diplomatic relations 31 years ago, China and Kazakhstan have developed their ties from good neighbors to strategic partners, and finally to permanent comprehensive strategic partners. He urged media organizations and think tanks from both sides to seize development opportunities, enhance mutual trust, and deepen people-to-people exchanges. He also said that CICG is willing to build platforms for mutual learning and understanding among civilizations and contribute to international communication and cultural exchange under the BRI.

During the meeting, Lu presented the book "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" to Gulnar Shaimergenova, director of the China Studies Centre in Kazakhstan. CICG Europe-Asia and the China Studies Centre in Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of cooperation.
