Quanzhou holds launch ceremony for biographical book

A new book titled "Quanzhou: The Biography" was launched in the port city of Quanzhou, southeastern China's Fujian province, on Sunday. It is part of a collection of books about cities along the Belt and Road.

The event was jointly organized by China International Communications Group (CICG) and the information office of Fujian provincial government, and was attended by over 60 officials, representatives from universities, organizations, and media outlets, as well as diplomats.

In his speech, Lu Cairong, vice president of CICG, noted that the publication of "Quanzhou: The Biography" will allow more readers around the world to delve into the city's rich history and modern look. The book will present a Quanzhou that is full of vitality and profound cultures to the world, he said.

The collection of biographies of cities along the Belt and Road is a groundbreaking series that explores the urban landscape of these regions. As part of the book series, "Quanzhou: The Biography" is the first of its kind to comprehensively introduce Quanzhou, the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road. It is also a masterpiece that weaves together the city's long history, splendid culture, and humanistic spirit.
