Lu said, as an important starting point and birthplace of the ancient Maritime Silk Road as well as the core area of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, Fujian boasts abundant marine cultural resources.

Four cities of Fujian have been included in the Belt and Road city biography series published by CICG, Lu said, adding that the collection of books will be adapted into documentaries to share more Maritime Silk Road stories of Fujian with the rest of the world.

As the core area of the 21st Maritime Silk Road, Fujian will further explore local cultural resources, promote mutual learnings among civilizations, and facilitate people-to-people exchange among countries, said Zhang Yan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Fujian Provincial Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee.
