CICG shines at 35th Beijing Book Fair

China International Communications Group (CICG) attended the 35th Beijing Book Fair from Feb. 24 to 26 and held a series of popular brand promotion activities. Its five themed booths received the event's Acclaimed Booths in Design Award.

Seven publishing houses under CICG brought to the event more than 2,000 books, including books by China's national leaders, teaching materials, classic literature, and children's books, in over 30 languages. A cloud library, periodicals, and cultural and creative products were also on display.

On the first day of the event, CICG held two book launch ceremonies, introducing the "China Today" book series centering on Chinese culture and famous Chinese writer Cao Wenxuan's books for children. On the second day, a promotional session of the "Monkey King" series and a sharing session of serial picture books were held.

Zhang Jianchun, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, visited CICG's booths on Feb. 25, and CICG Vice President Lu Cairong introduced CICG's key exhibits including books by China's national leaders and international cooperative publications.

Lu said at the "Monkey King" IP Promotion event that, as the Monkey King is a good narrative carrier and cultural symbol of traditional Chinese culture, its influence should be further strengthened.

He called for more integrated development of publication with new media, new technology, and new forms of business, and better digital products and services, to help the brand go global.

CICG Vice President Liu Dawei said at the book launch ceremony for the "China Today" book series that the series is an effort of great significance for making China's history, traditions, cultural heritage, and development paths better understood. He said that he hopes this series can contribute to telling China's stories well and making China's voices better heard.
