CICG executives address 2022 Global Free Trade Media Forum

The 2022 Global Free Trade Media Forum was held in Haikou, capital of southern China's Hainan province, on Tuesday. Executives of China International Communications Group (CICG) addressed the event via teleconferencing.

CICG Vice President Lu Cairong said that the group, which has an extensive reach in international communication, has signed a strategic cooperation agreement on international communication with Hainan province. He said that CICG would like to collaborate with all sides to tell the stories of global development, make China's voices better heard, and contribute to the development of Hainan Free Trade Port.

Chen Shi, deputy editor-in-chief of CICG and director of the China Center for International Communication Development (CCICD) under CICG, said in her speech at the opening ceremony that CICG will comprehensively increase international communication efficacy, build a discourse system that connects China with the rest of the world, facilitate exchange and mutual learning among countries, help Chinese culture go global, and contribute more wisdom to sustainable global development and the building of a global governance system.

Participants at the forum held discussions on such topics as the economy, trade, cultural exchange among countries along the Belt and Road, the international discourse system jointly developed by new and traditional media, and ways to tell China's stories from Hainan's perspective.
