China, Japan, Thailand sign agreement on think tank cooperation

Think tanks from China, Japan, and Thailand reached a strategic cooperation agreement at the 2022 Global Forum on Hehe Culture held in Taizhou city, eastern China's Zhejiang province, on Tuesday.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies (ACCWS) under China International Communications Group (CICG), the East Asian Community Institute, and the Belt and Road Cooperation Research Center in Thailand. 

The memorandum, initiated by ACCWS, is aimed at building a platform for thinks tanks, universities, and research institutes to conduct exchange and cooperation.

Under the memorandum, think tanks from China, Japan and Thailand will jointly conduct research on topics including Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, state governance, mutual learning among civilizations, the Belt and Road Initiative, climate change, and international and regional studies.

A series of exchange activities, such as bilateral and multilateral academic seminars and field visits, will also be held to advance mutual learning and knowledge sharing among civilizations, and promote the building of an Asian community with a shared future.
