Awards ceremony of 3rd ASEAN-China Friendship and Cooperation Short Video Contest held

In his speech at the ceremony, Lu Cairong, vice president of China International Communications Group (CICG), complemented the contest as a key platform for people-to-people and cultural exchanges and an important demonstration of achievements in strengthening people-to-people bonds between the two sides.

He said that the contest this year attracted increased attention and participation, deepened mutual understanding between people - especially the youth - from the two sides, and injected new vitality into bilateral relations.

The contest this year has set up two sections, with section A soliciting videos less than 5 minutes and section B less than 30 seconds. Since its launch on June 27, section A received 18,259 works from China and 10 ASEAN member states, and 21 winners were selected through the joint evaluation of 10 judges from China and ASEAN countries. Among them, "Millennia Pauk-Phaw Friendship" from Myanmar won the gold award, and "Explore the Chinese Mark of Malacca from Culture and Museum Tour" from China and "The Growth of a Female Chef" from Laos and China won the silver awards. The newly added section B of the contest received 1,980 entries, and 20 of them were awarded.

The contest was jointly organized by China's Mission to ASEAN, China's National Radio and Television Administration, Myanmar's Permanent Mission to ASEAN, CICG, the ASEAN Secretariat, the Department of Asian affairs of China's Foreign Affairs Ministry, the China Public Diplomacy Association, and the Wuxi municipal government.
