National language service export base unveiled

The International Communication Science and Culture Park under China International Communications Group (CICG) was officially designated as a national language service export base during a launch ceremony in Beijing on Wednesday.

Du Zhanyuan, president of CICG, said at the ceremony that the base launch shows the important standing and mission of the cultural park in international communication, technology exchange, and cultural exchange, especially cultural trade. 

Du said that the cultural park, as one of the only two language service export base parks in China, will further promote the development of the language service industry, expand language service exports, and improve national language service capabilities.

Du encouraged institutions in the park to actively support and participate in the construction of the base, gather strengths from various sectors, and better play a leading role in increasing the global presence of Chinese culture.

Representatives of Sinolingua Press, the Academy of Translation and Interpretation, and Beijing Chinese-Foreign Translation & Information Service Co. Ltd. spoke at the ceremony and contributed ideas for the future development of the base.
