Forum held to promote exchange between China, Türkiye

The third China-Türkiye Dialogue Forum was held in Beijing on Monday, bringing together officials, business executives, and representatives from media outlets and think tanks of both sides to discuss economic and trade cooperation.

During his address at the forum, Du Zhanyuan, president of China International Communications Group (CICG), said that over 2,000 years ago, the Silk Road was already a bridge for economic and cultural exchange between China and Türkiye and made significant contributions to the progress of human civilization. Over the years, the two countries have deepened political, economic and trade, cultural, and sci-tech cooperation on a solid footing, and achieved fruitful results.

He said this forum focused on economic and trade cooperation between China and Türkiye, which is of great significance for advancing their strategic relations in a sound and sustained manner, and for promoting people's well-being and the development of the two countries.

Du called on both sides to pursue strong political trust, broader practical cooperation, and closer cultural exchanges, especially promoting dialogue between the younger generations of the two countries and advancing exchange and cooperation between media outlets and think tanks in China and Türkiye.

At the forum, 15 representatives from think tanks, governments, and enterprises held talks on China's Belt and Road Initiative and Türkiye's Middle Corridor, China-Türkiye economic and trade cooperation in the post-pandemic period, and regional and multilateral cooperation. Representative from both sides made constructive suggestions and shed light on future cooperation between the two countries.

A ceremony was also held during the forum to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Turkish edition of China Today magazine published by the CICG Center for Europe and Africa, and to launch a special issue on China-Türkiye economic and trade cooperation.
