(1)Chinese Book Centers and overseas editorial teams

To help readers overseas to better understand China, CICG has co-founded 10 Chinese Book Centers with agencies in Poland, Thailand, Nepal, Switzerland, Cuba, Peru, the Philippines, Cambodia, Iran, and Mexico. The book centers aim to introduce China's language and culture to people worldwide, and to promote friendly international relations.

CICG is actively advancing international cooperation in publishing, and has established editorial teams overseas for books about China. By working with its foreign counterparts through copyright sharing and collaborative editorial planning, CICG is helping to introduce books about China to the global readership.

(2)International publication cooperation mechanism

CICG initiated the international publication cooperation mechanism on books about China in 2019, which aims to facilitate resource sharing, mutual learning, complementarity, and win-win outcome with its international counterparts. With the mechanism, CICG hopes to expand the market and cultural value of these books, and promote cultural exchange and cooperation with the rest of the world. Now, the mechanism is being jointly built and managed by seven publishing houses and the China International Book Trading Corporation under CICG, as well as celebrated publishing agencies from more than 20 countries.

A signing ceremony for international publishing cooperation of the "Understanding China" series is held in Beijing.
The China-themed Books Seminar on Publishing for International Readers 2022, sponsored by the secretariat of the international publication cooperation mechanism for China-themed books, is held both online and offline on April 22, 2022.
